one thursday night me and my boyfriend decided to go and kickback at the hollenbeck park right after work. that park is so big and it has a pretty big lake in the middle of it with really tall trees. i've heard stories that people have been robbed and then killed and get thrown into the lake, but i didn't matter to me, i was with my boyfriend and i felt really safe.

once me and my boyfriend started walking around the park we decided to seat down and talk. he told me to seat where the picnic tables were at but i told him that i wanted to go and seat on the other side where it was dark and lonely. he made a remark that if something happened it would be my fault but i didn't care and just dragged him along.

we were there kissing and talking for a whole hour but it was getting pretty late so he told me that we should leave but i told him to just wait for 10 more minutes. 5 minutes after i felt someone coming behind us and i turned, i saw this big man pointing a gun at us i told my boyfriend to turn around, once he did he try to get up and fight with this man but it was too late. that man had the gun pointing at my boyfriend's head i was so afraid and he told both of us to get down and to not even dare look at him. while he pointed the gun at my boyfriend he went for my rings and my necklace. after searching me he put the gun right in the middle of my spine and started getting my boyfriends chain, and wallet. once he took everything from us he started kicking my boyfriend, but my boyfriend couldn't do anything. the men told my boyfriend that if we try to do anything back will be sharing the lake with the fish. once he finally left he told us to stay in the floor for 10 minutes. right away when the man left me and my boyfriend ran for it and called the cops. the worst thing of all was that the man was high and he had the gun loaded. i think we were lucky enough to survive this one because 2 weeks after our accident a young guy that was jogging around the park got killed and thrown into the lake. having the gun against our bodies felt like the end.
