I've had three separate OOBE's in my life time. All of them happened around the age of 25 and I was married at the time. I've never done drugs and was experiencing no particular trauma. 

I'll try and give a condensed version of my last OOBE since I think it was the most significant. Having gone to bed one night and lying flat on my back with eyes closed, I began to focus my concentration on what I call "the minds eye" which is a square black image a lot like a TV. set when turned off. I had taught myself to do this via previous OOBE's and by now had some idea what to expect.

Soon I was hovering over the bed looking down at my body just as it would normally appear. I traveled through the ceiling and remember seeing the insulation, boards and material in my attic. I then found myself hovering over the roof of my house and looking around the neighborhood completely unencumbered by the winters cold or any physical condition at all. I decided that this time I would travel far and trust my instincts to get back. I traveled over the houses quickly noticing all that was familiar until the neighborhoods began to look less and less familiar.

Soon I was traveling past cities and places I had never been before until I reached water. I traveled over a huge expanse of water able to see the driftwood and large area's of seaweed with the same perception that I was there physically.

The sun began to rise at a speed that I had never seen before and soon it was dawn. I was approaching land once again and I could see a town of very old buildings and cobblestone streets and realized this was a place I had never seen before. It appeared to be a very poor town with dank allies and stray dogs running all over. The dogs seemed to sense my presence and were agitated by it. Soon people began to stir and I felt that I should leave before they "see" me. I went back over the water, again traveling very fast and the sun set. The entire scenario repeated in reverse order until I was back home and in my body.

I know it seems fantastic but, the realness of this and other OOBE's I've had is just the same as my sitting at this computer, typing these words.
