Link didn't work for me, returned a 404 error.

Is it referring to a certain region of the brain that scientists can stimulate to make the patient/guinea pig/hapless volunteer believe he is having an OOBE or NDE?

If so, I think I posted about that a while back. Would have to search for it though.

If not, can you fix the link or find the source elsewhere?

I was able to get the link to work.  The article discussed elevated levels of CO2 as the culprit for NDEs.  Not sure that I'm buying it even though it was published in a peer-reviewed journal.  I wouldn't mind reading more if there's an article that elaborates more on it...

Yeah, link doesn't work for me, either.
Elevated levels of CO2? Wow... If that's the case, then why do so many people experience the same type of situation in NDEs? The whole white light thing, or seeing angels, or seeing themselves...

Science like this upsets me. .__.

I know what you mean if i follow you...It was the same way when science explained (to me) about spontaneous human combustion (being re-created in a lab)...the simplest explanations are usually the right ones.

I wrote a post on my forum when someone post a link to it.  Having had many NDE's - I am biased toward the belief side.  :happy0039:

My Reply @ : NDEs maybe caused by Carbon Dioxide

When asked if the study would rule out paranormal activities, she said:  "I don't think that, based on our study, we can say that paranormal  believers are wrong."

The NDE has come to define many aspects of the 'dying' phenomena or something other the "paranormal' aspect related to some experiences.

My reply sort of addresses that issue.

They cant prove that paranormal believers are wrong. They can only prove they are right in what they know at that given time, there is always more to learn. We should have faith for them to learn more, they are helping us out more than they know. It is only our perception and their judgement that what they are doing is discrediting the experiencers and believers, I can assure you...they are doing the believers a favor. When the time comes, the experiencers and believers will have their proof through science...and they did all the work for you. Maybe not in our lifetime, but in the future they will have this proof and both sides will be right. Mark my words.

When the time is right and this is proven, there will be ridicule on the side of scientific theory...due to their egotistical knowledge and discrediting the believers. God chose those certain individuals to experience the ultimate and sent them back to spread the word, and discrediting the believer is discrediting God. I think God chose both sides to work together. What one side gains in power, they also lack in faith.
