Since our active members are quite helpful on other boards, I noticed that we don't have a general help thread for questions that have already been answered, or that people are afraid to ask. so...i think I'm going to try and make this an impromptu FAQ post, and then this thread can be for questions. please excuse the sarcasm

1. Are there ghosts, Angels, Demons, spirits, manifested energies or entities?
Sure there are, if you believe in them. if you're really asking this question, then you're probably a skeptic, or someone who wants to start a lengthy debate on scientific theory and religious theory. I would advise not to ask, because if you dont believe in the paranormal, why are you visiting this site?

2. Are psychics really psychic? because i have a friend who [....] and i thought that psychics read your mind.
There are believed to be many different types of psychics. there are some that tell your futures, others that tell how you feel, or what your thinking, and many others that use different means of using their strength. be it tarot, palmistry, or other ways, I'm sure there is more then one.

3. Alright, so this [insert story], and [insert story], and then [insert story] happened. and i think its [insert explanation]. What do you guys think?
Well...first of all, i hope you read up a little on this forum, and haven't found a situation similar to what has happened to you. Its nice to see your experience (and i do encourage you to post it) but if you see someone who's had a similar situation to you, posting under their thread helps encourage people who have been helping in that thread determine if your situation is the same thing. this helps keep threads alive and active without spam and bumping, and makes similar experiences easy to group.

If your going to create a thread, and find a thread you think might be similar...but not quite the same, link it! we can tell you if its similar enough to be relevant, or disprove your fears. (there is a search option here to help find posts too!) Click to SEARCH!

5. I saw someone with some custom avatars. how do i get one?
For one thing, you need about 50 non-spam posts to even access that option. until you do though, you do have the option to use preset ones. to change your avatar, click:
User CP which should be at the top of this site, then on the navigation/menu bar, there should be a link for Edit Avatar

6. Where do i post [insert subject]?
I understand that we have a lot of boards, but all of the titles are self explanatory, and the ones that aren't self-explained have sub-titles right under them that help. just use your best judgment, and if you don't choose the right one, or it seems to fit better in another category, our moderators will move it. this doesn't mean you can post all over willy-nilly. we greatly appreciate your help to keep our board organized, and making their jobs easier.

Ack. my eeeeeeyes!!! mkay, little bits of chatspeek like lol, and roflmao, and OMG are alright. leetspeak (|_33+2p33|<) and the typing with no spaces with out line breaks are hard to read. Please learn that typing correctly gets more attention then teenage cries for help. using it for humor purposes (which is ONLY a single line or so.) is allowed. and people....YOUR CAPSLOCK KEY ISNT STUCK! even if it is, your on screen keyboard has the option of turning it off, so dont try that excuse.

8. I don't speak English well. No puede hablar ingles muy bien. Eigo no hanasemasen.
 if English isn't your first language, please don't fret, we will try our best to understand and help. some people here are multilingual! I personally speak Spanish and English (somewhat fluently), and i'm pretty sure there are others here who speak different languages. (podemos ayudar, pero  si sabes hablar ingles, por favor, escribes en ingles. yo Puedo comprender en espanol y ingles, pero puedo ayudar mas si te puedes comprender ingles, porque diciendos cosas es un poco dificil para mi.)

9. Are links/pictures to other site allowed?
As long as it is relevant to the topic, or this website. advertising for a random product, or linking to a porn site is BAD. which means don't do it. you can actually ask, and we WILL tell you if it's okay or not...this doesn't mean we disapprove for suggesting websites for more information.

10. Some posts conflict with my beliefs! (be it religious or not)
Please keep in mind that this is an open community, and not all people here are of the same religious background, ethnicity, or even in the same country! take this time to broaden your horizons and learn about other beliefs, but don't force what you believe on others. For one: it's not nice etiquette, and two: we will listen, but be nice. Mslemon COULD have made this an "Invite-Only" Private forum. Please respect others.

11. This person is being REALLY rude and mean in their posts, or is breaking rules!!!! MAKE THEM STOP!
Please contact the web-administrator, Mslemon. There is also an exclamation mark (!) in a red and white hazard sign (triangle thing) next to each post so you can report people for breaking rules (being rude is also against our rules!).


Other stuff

We love to hear experiences, so don't be afraid to share. there is already a General FAQ on how to use the forums, smilies, control panel, etc. so i won't elaborate too much. here, we are very open minded, so dont shy away. if you have any questions, feel free to ask. Happy posting. ~Kaiya

Also, we have a User Reputation system we use for patting each other on the back. When someone posts something you like or agree with, you can add to their reputation with a comment by clicking the scales under their name. (It doesn't look like scales to me, more like a triangle of clouds.)

And, you can rate threads by clicking the  Rate Thread link at the top of each thread.


How to quote:
At the bottom right of each poster's reply are 3 buttons (there is also an edit button on your personal posts). One says "quote" - that is for one single quote. It takes the poster's words and puts them in quote form in your reply.

How to use the multi-quote feature:
The second is a set of black quotation marks with a plus sign. This is the multi-quote button. You can quote up to 5 people in one reply. Click the button, go on to the next post you want to quote, click the button, and when you are done saving quotes, click the regular reply button. All your selected quoted posts will be in your reply waiting for your answers.

Quick reply:
This is the third button and looks like a quill pen. Use it to activate the test box beneath posts instead of hitting reply and going to a new page to answer. This feature is useful if you don't need smilies or special formatting, and just want to give a quick answer.

Very nice, Kaiya! I love this. I kinda post about these things, but I didn't put it all in one thread. Great job. We'll sticky it and use this thread for any additional thoughts.
