Torbay Investigations of the Paranormal

Torbay Investigations of the Paranormal

I discovered my local paranormal society called, Torbay Investigations of the Paranormal, at the Torquay psychic fair last month. They meet every Monday at the Churston Court Hotel. So last Monday I went along to see what they do, and as their name implies, they investigate the paranormal. On the night they exchange theories and stories. A number of hotel guests came and joined us in our discussions. Apparently the hotel is haunted, and is a haunted listed building. The guests were paranormal tourists, who were touring round Devon and Cornwall visiting haunted sites and buildings, I never new that the West Country was so haunted. Their experiences were remarkable. I have given a couple of them the Archive X web site address, and hopefully they may contribute to Archive X, or the forum. Their stories are fascinating, but I won’t spoil their stories by telling you yet.

Keep an eye on this topic.

Advent, that's nice! I'll be looking forward to the stories and thanks for passing along our site.  :)

We have a local ghost hunting place in a nearby town. We've spoken with them once, but haven't gone on any tours or such. We might need to do that this autumn.

I hope to re-visit them next Monday if I have enough petrol. The group have helped a few young girls with babies in recent weeks. They said they had a run of them.

What's up with that?

They seem to be open to help people. I need to find out more.

One of the guests showed us his electromagnetic field detector. He was told they don’t use them. They prefer to sense the presence of ghosts or sprits. They also don’t use Ouija boards. They prefer to take along a medium. That way they can find out more information from the ghosts.
The group seem to rely on their own gifts rather than technology.

Interesting about not "relying" on techology.

Still not quite understanding what that means about helping young girls with babies, though. Just help in general and not with supernatural stuff, perhaps?

Some groups take recording equipment (audio and/or video). Does the group use such items? Sometimes, voices and/or forms are heard/seen afterwards on the tapes/disks, even though not heard/seen by the people present.

I’m sorry; I was only referring to technology used for detection and communication. From their blog site, they did mention gathering proof, which may mean using recording equipment. I need to go back and find out more.

Here is their Blog site: http://tipfiles.blogspot.co.uk/

Unfortunately I have noticed, they haven’t updated it since December 2011, and their website can’t be found.

I really think they need to operate their own server, like Archive X, so it can be regularly updated and maintained.
