i think the easiest way to go is to just sit down an listen. ANYWHERE.
just take a seat, and listen to the sounds, and try to identify every one. Dont look around to try and spot the source. after you think you've identified all the sounds, you can look and see if you were correct.
for some reason, having only to focus on one thing (listening and seeing) seperately, it helps. listening without looking makes you think creatively. seeing helps visually confirm and makes the sounds connect logically.
since you are more of a logical thinker at the moment, relax and just wonder about the sounds instead of precisely identifying sounds and sources. the roar of an engine could be a crane, a car, a motorcycle, or even a motorscooter. try thinking of multiple possibilities, but try to stay relaxed. tensing up tends to make you forcible think black and white instead of creatively.
